Leading with Experience: A Closer Look at Guillaume’s Leadership Journey

- October 1, 2025
Guillaume has been an integral part of Neurones IT Asia since May 2014, recently stepping up as Deputy Director following his role as Solution Portfolio Director. Prior to that, he spent nearly six years managing the LV account, leveraging his strong leadership and project management skills. With close to 20 years of IT experience (including six years leading projects in Paris for one of France’s largest telecommunications companies), Guillaume brings a wealth of international expertise and a proven track record of building effective teams and delivering global projects.
You’ve held various roles at Neurones IT Asia since 2014. How has your approach to leadership evolved over the years?
When I joined Neurones IT Asia in 2014, my leadership style was very operational and delivery-focused, driven by the need to get things done. Over the years, especially after managing key accounts and then building our service portfolio, I learned the value of stepping back to empower others. Today, I see leadership less as directing and more as enabling: providing clarity, aligning purpose, and fostering trust across teams. I focus more on listening, mentoring, and creating an environment where people feel ownership and pride in what they do.
I understand that culture isn’t created overnight. It is shaped by everyday actions that demonstrate we genuinely care. One of the ways I do this is through regular face-to-face check-ins with our consultants and employees, where I listen to any challenges they may be facing and identify opportunities to improve their quality of work.
These meetings also provide a safe space for open and honest communication, emphasizing the importance of trust and transparency within our team.
In addition, I lead a diverse organizing committee responsible for planning internal events across the company. Bringing together team members from different backgrounds helps us create inclusive and engaging activities that strengthen our people-oriented culture and foster a sense of community.
Having worked in both Paris and Singapore, how has this experience influenced your management style?
Working across two very different business cultures has been an eye-opener. In Paris, the work environment is more hierarchical, with a strong emphasis on process and precision. In Singapore, I’ve learned to be more agile, outcome-driven, and multicultural in my approach. I now value clarity over complexity, quick iteration over perfect planning, and inclusivity across cultures and seniority levels. This dual perspective has helped me bridge global teams, anticipate cross-cultural challenges, and tailor my communication style to better resonate with both local and international stakeholders.
What’s your vision for your role as Deputy Director over the next 5 years
As Deputy Director, my vision is to scale Neurones IT Asia into a more mature and regionally recognized IT service provider, while preserving our agility and entrepreneurial mindset. I want to deepen our specialization in key service areas like managed services, cloud, and observability while also developing the next generation of leaders within the company. Growth is important, but sustainable growth built on trust, operational excellence, and a strong sense of purpose is what I aim to achieve in the next five years.
What do you think makes Neurones IT Asia’s culture different from other tech companies you’ve experienced
Neurones IT Asia has a unique culture rooted in trust, autonomy, and long-term thinking. Unlike many tech companies where hierarchy or rigid KPIs dominate, we give people room to grow, try, and sometimes fail knowing that learning is part of the journey. We value entrepreneurship within the structure of a larger group, which gives us the agility of a startup but the stability of an established player. The relationships here are human-first, and that shows in how we collaborate, support each other, and build lasting client partnerships.
What’s your ideal weekend?
My ideal weekend strikes a balance between activity and recharge. A long bike ride or run early in the morning, followed by breakfast with my kids, then maybe a walk or exploring something new around the city. In the evening, good food (home-cooked or a nice restaurant) and some time to catch up on reading or a great documentary. Simple pleasures, but they keep me grounded and recharged for the week ahead.
